Position title: Sales Manager – Japan

This Sales Manager position will be based in Japan and responsible to sell AI data services and solutions with focus on speech, image, or relevance to Japanese customers.


Major Responsibilities:

1. Strong desire to grow Japan AI industry with Appen’s advanced technologies and resources, achieve Sales signing targets.

2. Analyze customer and market to find out customer / accounts opportunities and create demands. Build up and maintain strong relationships with customers.

3. Be responsible for commercial NDA, contract, MSA, SOW negotiation till contract closure with relevant functions / legal supports.

4. Develop & expand new & existing market / customers / accounts by selling Appen’s offerings (including speech & image, Content relevance, Platform services).

5. Closely working together with Marketing function to promote Appen’s Brand in Japan market.

6. Closely working together with Appen Client Service team on shaping solutions and provide advanced technical solutions to enable client’s success.

7. Closely working with Appen Client Service Project managers on handling client escalations, billing collections etc to achieve maximized client satisfaction.

8. In order to further expand Appen Japan's company scale, we will actively take on tasks necessary for company growth (domestic marketing activities, press activities, site construction, knowledge sharing, various operations) and contribute to the growth of the organization.


Qualifications:

1. Bachelor’s degree or above.

2. 3-5 years of Sales experiences with solid record

3. 1-2 years sales experience in AI Data domain, familiar with AI industry customers.

4. Must have sales experience with human service areas, BPO/ITO services/Content Moderation/ translation services.

5. Sales experiences in start-up company is an advantage.

6. Native Japanese speaker or N1 level

7. Ability to hold business meetings in English. Ability to speak Chinese is a plus.

8. Good ability to organize, create presentation materials, and introduce them to clients in Japanese.

9. Be willing to travel for business, mainly domestically in Japan, sometimes internationally

10. Have strong startup spirit; result-driven and self-motivated.

11. High integrity standard.

Hybrid Working (2-3 days working at the office)
